Los Angeles, California, is home to me. I was born and raised in this great
city. There's a hustle and bustle about it. A sense of "let's get on." In
short, it has a dynamic all its own. I love it.
I married and raised a family in LA. And I taught mathematics and computer
science in local secondary schools and colleges for thirty-two years. I
loved this as well.
I did a lot of things in addition to teaching by making good use of summers
and putting in some overtime nights. I studied psychology, sociology and
history at local universities, primarily USC and UCLA. I picked up a
masters degree in mathematics at Boston College (1966).
Throughout these years, I wrote a lot. Of it all, fiction was the greatest
challenge. And the most fun. Fatal Games was published by Pageant Press
in 1989. Four other titles are available through ForemostPress.com.
I now live with my wife in the foothills of the Sierra-Nevadas in
California, just ten miles west of Yosemite National Park. Five acres with
a 250 degree view of taller mountains to the east and north. Awesome.
Of noise makers, the birds are the worst offenders. Then the raccoons; they
are fond of trash cans. The squirrels chatter a lot. The deer hardly make a
sound, but they do enjoy most everything I try to grow in the gardens.
My wife works determinedly to spoil four grandchildren. Then, of course,
she has to put up with me. Which she would be quick to assure you has its
trying moments.
Me? I continue to write. And love the doing of it.

PS: There's a story about the hat I'm wearing in the photo above. A Stetson, of course. I bought it over 40 years back in Winimuca, Nevada. I've used it to carry water from a streams, to beat out small fires, to collect wild blackberries, and lord only knows what else. This is the kind of product I admire. Yeah, it doesn't look as sharp as it did. And the brim is a bit floppy. But it fits great, keeps the sun out of my eyes, and sheds the rain. I can't ask for more.
